I’m a graphic designer, bookmaker, and photographer based in Canterbury. My current practice sits at an intersection between printmaking, photography, and publication design. I strive to produce sophisticated work with simplicity and meaning, inspired by Japanese design principles.
While my primary focus is publication design for exhibitions and architectural books, I also work on a diverse range of graphic design projects, from packaging to typography, driven by a passion for all aspects of design and a desire to expand my skill set.
Quality and craftsmanship are at the heart of my practice; I believe in the importance of materiality and tactility, creating work physically using traditional techniques in combination with digital software. Embracing my family history of artisanship, I aim to support British craft where possible, incorporating nationally sourced materials like G.F Smith paper from Hull and magnesium dies made in Hackney into my work.
I interpret design as the process of facilitating communication, whether between a brand and a consumer or between myself and the world at large. My goal is to continue designing, crafting, and creating visual works that enable communication in alignment with my values and interests.
